Meralco service voltages

• Secondary metered: 240 V, 400 V or 460 V
• Primary metered: 34.5 kV; 13.8 kV in parts of Cavite and Bulacan; 115 kV for subtransmission

Transformers Meralco supplies for vault installation

These are Meralco-supplied units. If you are buying a transformer for your own installation, ask Meralco or the utility serving your site which voltages and protection arrangement it requires.

• Three-phase padmounted: 34.5 GrdY/20 kV or 13.2 GrdY/7.62 kV primary; secondary 240Y/139 V (75–1000 kVA), 480Y/277 V (500–2000 kVA) or 416Y/240 V (500–1000 kVA)
• Single-phase deadfront: 34.5 GrdY/20 kV or 13.2 GrdY/7.62 kV primary; secondary 139/277 V or 240/120 V; 167–333 kVA
• Deadfront primary and less-flammable liquid fill; the three-phase units are completely self-protected with fuses and have a loop sectionalizing switch

Product certification

DTI’s Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS) runs two mandatory schemes: the PS mark for locally made goods and the Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) for imports. The BPS list of products under mandatory certification covers household appliances, consumer electronics, and lighting and wiring devices such as circuit breakers, fuses, plugs, sockets and cables. Distribution transformers are not on that list.

Tender documents can still ask for type-test and routine-test reports, so check what your buyer or utility requires.

What our published ratings cover

• Pad-mounted transformers (IEEE/ANSI C57.12, 60 Hz): the published three-phase HV list includes 7.62, 13.2 and 13.8 kV (BIL 95 kV for 7.62 kV, 125 kV for 13.2 and 13.8 kV); ratings 30–3000 kVA including 75, 150, 225, 300, 500, 750, 1000, 1500 and 2000 kVA; published LV options are 240Δ/120 (tap), 480Y/277, 240Δ, 480Δ and 600Y/347 V.
• 34.5 kV primary, 240Y/139 V and 416Y/240 V secondary, and single-phase 333 kVA: quoted on request. Single-phase pad-mounted sizes published go up to 250 kVA, including 167 kVA.
• Oil-immersed S11 / S13 loss values on this site are 50 Hz guarantees, and the YBW compact substation catalogue is 50 Hz. 60 Hz units for the Philippines are designed and quoted per order.
• Dry-type units are published for 6–15 kV; 60 Hz is on request.
